Waste Management

An extensive recycling program for paper, plastics, glass, used oil, batteries and organic waste has been set in motion in Costa Navarino, resulting in a significant reduction of the volume of waste ending up in landfills.

Since 2014, the trimmings from trees at Costa Navarino are being turned into compost at a facility operating within our premises. The compost thus produced is subsequently used in the gardens and on the golf courses.

Additionally, the waste water from Costa Navarino facilities is treated in a large-scale wastewater treatment facility, 100% recycled and used for irrigation.

Costa Navarino has teamed up with WWF Greece since 2020 in a joint effort to limit single-use plastics across its resorts and operations.  Through this partnership, a full inventory report is carried out annually, measuring the amount of plastics used across

the destination’s distinct resort sites, with the objective to reduce these as much as possible. In 2021, Costa Navarino reduced the use of single use plastics, compared to its base year (2019) by 2.3 tonnes. Without counting Covid-related plastics, it reduced the

use by approximately 5.7 tonnes.
